With a network of 27 regional laboratories and 76 collection centers spread across WA, PathWest is the primary pathology and forensic arm of the WA health system.
As the leading referral pathology laboratory in Western Australia, PathWest responds to the needs of medical practitioners throughout the State. They deliver accurate information for 70 percent of clinical decisions and 100 percent of cancer diagnoses.
PathWest introduced a new mission-critical Laboratory Information System (LIS) across Western Australia in 2020.
The new LIS uses the latest technology to deliver integrated laboratory functional areas, including test ordering, specimen tracking, report preparation, delivery, and billing management, enabling PathWest to align its business processes with best practices.
The launch of the new LIS meant that PathWest needed to train and validate the skills of 2450+ staff on the new system within 12 month period to ensure they were ready to go live in 2020. PathWest chose Xapimed to deliver e-learning and skill verification and the ongoing skill and competency management for the entire organization.
