CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic health ministry that strives to be a leader, partner and advocate in the creation of innovative health and wellness solutions that improve the lives of individuals and communities. One way CHRISTUS Health is achieving this is through their Leader Foundations program. New leaders at CHRISTUS Health are enrolled in the program designed to provide the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the organization. Leaders learn not only the operational aspects of their leadership position but also strengthen their skills in retaining and engaging associates. Skills learned through the program include:

Making a Good Program Great
In 2021, CHRISTUS Health partnered with Xapimed to streamline its Leader Foundations program. The program was already highly successful but CHRISTUS wanted to make it even better.
The challenges:
- Coordinating classroom, online, and ‘real-world’ tasks across multiple technologies was time-consuming
- Learners could feel overwhelmed because learning content was visible all at once
- Educators wanted to improve how content, pathways, and milestones looked
- Learners and educators wanted automatic reminders to help stay on track
- Educators wanted to track progress with greater transparency and efficiency
- Educators wanted to decrease administrative burden by having competencies automatically flow into a digital tracking system
The team at Xapimed worked with CHRISTUS to create easy-to-follow digital learning pathways. These pathways housed smaller batches of content which are triggered to open up as the leader progresses towards each milestone. And if the leader starts to fall behind, an automatic reminder is sent to help them stay on track. Once assignments are completed, the leader’s skills matrix is instantly updated. Data flows automatically into dashboards and reports, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheets. Leaders, educators, and supervisors can quickly see how the learners are progressing in real-time. According to Amy Cunningham, Program Manager of Leadership Development, “We’ve seen so much benefit in how the automatic reminders really help our learners stay on track. But the reason why I’m such a big Xapimed fan is because I no longer have to spend countless hours manually compiling data. I don’t have to worry about my reports being inaccurate or static. I have confidence in the consistency and accuracy of the real-time data. It’s given me valuable time back. The labor, the amount of effort, the headache, and the emotional stress of that process are all gone.”
